What you'll learn

Throughout these lessons, we'll learn how to model your own jewelry for 3D printing using ZBrush and Maya. We'll explore the steps required to build a dragonfly pendant from scratch. We'll start by using Photoshop to design the necklace, and then we'll move over to ZBrush to create a base from the concept art. We'll also learn some tips and tricks for setting up our model in Maya. By the end of the tutorial, you'll have a solid understanding of the workflows that are required to create a model intended to be 3D-printed in wax and cast in silver. Software required: Autodesk Maya 2015, ZBrush, Photoshop CS5.

About the author

Helen Duckworth has been working in the film and television industry since 2005. She discovered her love for CG modeling at the age of 14 during a work-placement experience for the Bristol-based company, Aardman, best known for their award-winning duo, Wallace and Gromit.
